Two centuries of culinary delights |
|
D’Chez Eux exudes historical richness and gastronomic tradition. In the eighteenth century, thanks to its ideal location on the road leading to Paris, it was a staging post, where travelers stopped to give their horses a rest and enjoy a welcome meal after hours of road travel. The restaurant’s reputation as a delectable address was firmly sealed by Sir Raffatin, from the legendary establishment Honorine & Raffatin. In the 1950s, it was bought up by Jean-Pierre Court; it remained in his family for fifty years. In 2008, D’Chez Eux was taken over by Laurent and Catherine Brenta, restaurant owners from L’Evasion, and Mo Djema, a hotel owner. They chose the audacious solution, refraining from making any changes: the setting retained its former flavor, the team remained intact and the recipes still oozed with Rabelaisian earthiness. Only the wine cellar was modified, gaining a number of bold, modern bottles to accompany its regular selection. Many a president, from France and various other countries, has enjoyed a good, hearty meal beneath the meat drying racks; these include François Mitterrand, Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy, Bill Clinton and Vladimir Poutine. Some of our regular customers include France’s anchorwoman Marie Drucker, Hollywood star Joan Collins, and Jerry Lewis, a great fan of our roast chicken. We're waiting for you to join them! |
